Our New House

Here are a few pictures of the new house.  We sign papers on March 23, and the keys get handed over on the 26th.  Just a quick note about these pictures: the furnishings that you see belong to the former owner.  As soon as things are more settled, I'll post some more current pictures.

UPDATE!!  June 23, 2001

We've been in the house 3 months now. Lots of projects (big and small), and we're finally beginning to get settled.  As you scroll down through these pictures, you'll find a few links to the "after" pictures.  Some are subtle changes (showing our furniture & things vs. former owners), and some are fairly dramatic.

Thanks for stopping by!

Here's a picture in front of the house.  From left to right:  Sam, Mark (our realtor), and Bill.
Here we are again... can't wait to move in!
New photos!
Here's a little better shot of the front of the house.  There are 3 beautiful large trees in the front yard, and one big tree in the back yard.

We're located in North Dallas, just a couple blocks west of Marsh Lane... south of Forest, and north of Royal Lane.

As you walk in the front door and turn to your left, you find the formal living room. The former owner had wonderful taste & decorating style (very arts/crafts and/or country kitchen-style). However, the pink REALLY must go!!  :-)

The kitchen is not huge, but very nicely equipped, and has a very "open" feeling to it. It'll be just fine for small gatherings.  How much kitchen do you need to make Kraft Macaroni & Cheese??
Here's another shot of the kitchen, but also includes the dining area. While this configuration will work just fine for quite some time, I'd like to rebuild the countertop unit you see here & create a breakfast bar.

I'm sure a lot of time will be spent in this room.  The family room is just the right size.  The corner fireplace is a rather unique touch.

The doorway on the left side of this picture leads out to the patio; the door in the back/right side leads to the bedrooms.
New photos!

Here are 2 of the house's 4 bedrooms. The bedroom on the right will be the "official" guest room, while the bedroom on the left will be the temporary headquarters for my music studio & practice room.
New photos!

Here's a shot of the 3rd bedroom, that includes a doorway into the main bathroom. Sam plans to use this as his office.
New photos!

This is the house's main bathroom. The former owner took such wonderful care of her home, that very little is needed in any of the rooms.
The master bedroom is 20 x 12.  I don't think I've ever had a bedroom that large! I took this picture standing in the dressing area of the master bathroom.
Here's "the rest" of the master bedroom.  Just out of view on the left side of this picture are French doors, leading out to the deck.
Here's a shot of the deck.  It is surrounded by trees, shrubs, and a privacy fence. The gas grill is built-in, and we plan to add a hot tub very soon!  The doorway you see is to the master bedroom.
New photos!
Here's a shot of the back of the house. As you can see, the deck area offers a lot of privacy. The 2-car garage will be converted into a much more spacious recording studio for me.  We plan to add a car port once the conversion is done.
New photos!
There is still plenty of back yard for dogs to run & "do their thing." The driveway has an alley entrance. However the driveway actually goes all the way to the front of the property, allowing us to come & go from either direction.
